Echinacea ‘Fiery Meadow Mama’, introduced by Arie Blom of AB-Cultivars, displayed some of the most striking flowers in the trial, with bicolor petals that are reddish-pink near the center and fiery orange at the tip. The petals are long, neatly spaced, and strappy like Echinacea paradoxa or Echinacea pallida. The fine-textured foliage of this cultivar was fairly unique to the evaluation as well. Individual leaves are small, lance-shaped, and completely hairless appearing similar to a miniaturized Echinacea paradoxa plant. Aster yellows symptoms were observed in this cultivar over the duration of the trial possibly accounting for the lack of vigor in ‘Fiery Meadow Mama’.
