Ophiopogon planiscapis 'Ebony Knight' has distinctive purple-black, narrow strap-like leaves. Its summer stems of pink flowers develop into black berries. Also known as Black Mondo Grass, Ophiopgon planiscapis 'Ebony Knight' has a stoloniferous habit. A slow spreading, evergreen perennial, it is exceptional in the landscape, particularly when planted with bright chartreuse perennials, such as Hosta 'Fire Island' or Golden Creeping Oregano.
